Persian Gulf War Cease Fire Commemoration is set for April 11 with the
location & time to be announced by the host Branson Veterans Task Force.
Armed Forces Day, May 17, remembrance
events will include a tribute ceremony at Branson Landing sponsored by the
Branson Veterans Task Force. The ceremony will begin at 9:45 a.m. in the Town
Square at Branson Landing. Guest speaker is Col. Steve Danner. The Task Force is
joining forces with Dick Clark's American Bandstand Theater for a several day
event around Armed Forces Day. Events will include a bike rally May 15-18.
The rally will be held at Area 57 and named Branson Rock, Ride, Remember
Motorcycle Rally. Other events include a drive-in movie night featuring classic
biker films and a two-wheel scavenger hunt.
June 14 On Flag Day Branson Veterans Task Force traditionally gathers American flags
that are torn, tattered or worn out. Locations to be announced. Officials also
demonstrate how to properly fold the flag & host a ceremony on how to properly
dispose of the American Flag after it no longer serviceable.
Branson Veterans Task Force encourages all to show patriotism on
Independence Day by wearing red, white & blue & hosts hometown celebrations in
area parks for Spirit of '76.
National Day of Atomic Remembrance is set by the Branson Veterans Task Force
for July 16 with the location and time to be announced. The 63rd anniversary of
the first atomic explosion & all veterans who were exposed to radiation in the
line of military duty will be recognized during the National Atomic Veterans Day
of Remembrance Observance. George W. Bush declared July 16th as a national day
for all-military groups & veterans associated with the nuclear programs.
Korean War Armistice Day on July 27 will be observed at Ozark Memorial Park
Cemetery. The Harry S. Truman Chapter of the Korean War Veterans Association
hosts a memorial ceremony marking the end of "The Forgotten War," remembering
veterans who returned & those who did not. Ceremony held at Ozark Memorial Park
Cemetery, East Hwy. 76, at 10 a.m.
The End of WWII will be observed by the Branson Veterans Task Force on Sept.
2. The location and time is to be announced.
Branson Remembers 9/11 is a beautiful & moving ceremony will be held in
observance of the tragedy that changed the world. Traditionally held at 8 a.m.
in the back parking lot behind the Grand Palace under the American Highrise
Monument. Hosted by Branson Veterans Task Force.
POW-MIA Day Silent March will be held Sept. 19 in downtown Branson. A Silent
March is traditionally held the third Fri. in September & sponsored by the
Branson Veterans Task Force. The march is followed by a short commemorative
service for those who have not returned from WWII, Korea, Vietnam or Desert
Storm. Details to be announced.
Veterans Homecoming Nov 5-11 America's
largest Veterans Day gathering and celebration. Parades, displays,
celebrities, reunions, flyovers and a whole schedule jam-packed with
special events honoring our American heroes who have served to defend our
